Richmond County Libraries
Richmond County’s public libraries, once individual community
libraries, became a county system in 1978 and a department of county
government in 2001. Citizen donations helped build modern city-owned
buildings in Rockingham, Hamlet, and Ellerbe. The county-city partnership
funds library operations and functions as a member of the Sandhill
Regional Library System.
